How to play

Game Introduction

Eras of Rivalry is a free online strategy map simulator where players spawn AI nations onto procedurally generated worlds and observe their interactions. There is no story mode or objective screen; the core loop is simple: drop nations onto a map, then let the AI handle the rest. Countries form alliances, break them, trigger revolts, and vie for dominance in a free-for-all that rarely plays the same way twice. This is a pure what-if territory for players who enjoy hands-off simulation or active meddling. The game offers a unique sandbox experience where every session becomes a new story of shifting borders and emergent diplomacy.

How to Play

To start, spawn AI nations on a map and let the simulation run. Use god mode to rename nations, force conflicts, broker peace, or remove kingdoms with one click. The tools reward experimentation. Small nudges can spiral into continent-wide changes. For more control, the scenario editor lets you build custom maps from scratch, set borders, pick terrain, and share creations. Pre-made scenarios are available for quick starts. The demo covers basics, while the full version on Steam unlocks bigger maps, deeper mechanics, and the full god mode toolkit. Play online at the official website for a no-download experience.

Game Features

God mode allows renaming nations, forcing conflicts, brokering peace, or removing kingdoms. The scenario editor lets you build custom maps with borders and terrain. Procedurally generated maps ensure no two games are alike. Community content provides additional scenarios and maps to explore. Players can share their creations and discover new setups made by others.

Tips for Success

Watch how systems play out. A nation you built for twenty minutes might get overtaken in two. That is the fun of it. Perfect for short sessions or long experiments. Experiment with different starting conditions and observe how small changes affect the simulation. Use the scenario editor to create balanced or chaotic maps. Engage with the community to discover new scenarios and strategies.
